We have decided to put up an announcement regarding this matter as we have had a few tickets now, even although it is not directly connected to our network.

It appears there are some intermittent routing issues between Time Warner Telecom, XO Communications and several Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Australia including Telstra, Big Pond and Optus. Although we have not seen any recent reports of issues with Big Pond or Optus, only Telstra.

This routing issue is preventing some clients in Australia from being able to reach our servers even although our servers and network are fully operational. It is not possible for us to manipulate inbound routes to our network and we are not sure why these ISPs are not taking an alternate path to reach the data center.

The last update we had from Time Warner Telecom and XO Communications around 30 minutes ago stated that they are working to resolve these routing issues with the ISPs in question but that they have no estimated time for resolution. We will of course keep our clients updated as and when we receive more information.

This issue is impacting a very small percentage of traffic to the our network and unfortunately is outside our scope of control. We will do our best to keep the pressure up on our own bandwidth carriers to resolve this though.
